CrossFit Taranis
Victoria B.C.
Time to get back on track with AOM. It’s been a little crazy around here lately with Sectionals, and Regionals and everything and the AOM has gone somewhat by the wayside, sorry about that.
Regardless we feel it is due time we payed respect to one of our most dedicated athletes in the box. I wont be able to quote any achievement numbers or goals she has achieved because she carries around her tracking book like its the Holy Grail. I’m talking of course about our highly lovable “JenBot”.
Jen “JenBot” Anderberg has a long athletic history and as such adapted quickly to the CrossFit lifestyle and in particular the Taranis family at large. She immediately immersed herself with all that Taranis had to offer including extra training and community functions. She has been a fixture in both Phase 2.5 sessions offered and is a regular at group sessions. She was “On the Bus” for Sectionals and showed her support by entertaining the team on the bus ride with her “JenBot” demonstration (hopefully featured in the upcoming “Pelt” montage) and by sporting the Taranis colors and cheering all of us on during the wods. Her positive attitude and Team spirit is infectious. Always looking for a challenge she had a brief stint where she took some time off to give boxing a try, we forgive you lol. But it’s great to have her back in the box again.
She demands such a high standard of herself yet never gets down when she feels she isn’t doing as well as she would like. This is a very unique trait that I believe is the secret to so much of her success. She is easy to coach and is always seeking direction of how to improve. Always maintaing strict standards and range of motion she never shortcuts a WOD. Some of you may think that coaches don’t notice these things but man we do.
I hope that Jen herself will add in a little post script outlining some of the accomplishments she is most proud of.
For her high level of dedication to the program, her infectious Team spirit and positive attitude, and for demanding so much of herself in such a positive way, “JenBot” you are the June CFT Athlete of the Month. The coaches all agree there is no one more deserving than you.
On a completely unrelated note, be advised that the Thursday WOD will be run on Friday July the 2nd. Friday is a .com rest day but because we are closed Thursday for Canada day, we will be running it Friday and offering all regular class times, not just rest day class times.
